Poverest Road, Orpington

This road is the main route from Petts Wood and other parts of Bromley to the Sevenoaks Way retail and industial estates. It would also be used by traffic from Petts Wood and Chislehurst heading for the M25 and locations such as Chelsfield and Sevenoaks, or vice versa.  It runs parallel to Leesons Hill and Perry Hall Road and there has been some concern expressed that traffic would divert onto those alternative routes if speed humps were introduced.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The hump scheme consists of 21 sets of speed cushions (some staggered around central pedestrian refuges, some triple ones), plus gateway treatments at each end and some “SLOW” signs on the road. Total cost is £55,000.
